At the beginning of 2025, BPM Company embarked on an exciting new journey: Launchpad. This internal startup brings together an energetic, multidisciplinary team to build innovative B2B SaaS applications. Our very first application has already entered the pilot phase and this is only the beginning. In this blog, we’ll take you behind the scenes: what Launchpad is all about, how our team collaborates and what our traineeship looks like – featuring the story of Pien, Trainee Launchpad Developer.
What is Launchpad?
Launchpad is a brand-new software platform from Pegasystems that accelerates SaaS development by harnessing the power of low-code and GenAI. It enables ideas to be transformed into user-friendly applications at lightning speed, delivering real value for small and medium-sized businesses. Our team leverages Launchpad to create innovative tools that make business processes smarter, faster and more efficient, from HR to recruitment and more.
From idea to pilot
The first Launchpad application has been developed by our team and is now running in its pilot phase. Even after going live, the team continues to refine and expand the product with new features. At the same time, fresh ideas are already being shaped into future SaaS solutions. In short: this is not just a concept on paper, but a place where you can truly make an impact by building software that helps organizations move forward.
The Launchpad team: trainees and professionals
The Launchpad team is made up of a mix of experienced Pega professionals and trainees.
- Trainees: work hands-on every day, building the applications
- Professionals: provide technical expertise, strategic guidance and coaching
For you as a trainee, this means contributing from day one, learning a lot along the way, and having the freedom to think creatively.
Working Agile
At Launchpad, we follow the Agile/Scrum methodology. This means:
- Daily stand-ups to discuss priorities and challenges;
- Weekly task planning using the scrum board;
- Collaborative decision-making to focus on what truly matters.
This approach fosters strong teamwork, a rapid learning curve and a team where everyone is engaged in the end result.
The traineeship: Pien’s experience
Since November 2024, Pien has been working as a Trainee Launchpad Developer. She started with an intensive training at our Academy, where she learned the fundamentals of Pega. Afterward, she joined the Launchpad team alongside fellow trainee Dario and experienced colleagues.
“Because the platform is still so new, we get to explore and learn a lot ourselves and that’s exactly what makes it so fun.” – Pien
Working in a startup gave her the opportunity to take initiative quickly while learning from her colleagues at the same time.
What makes you successful as a trainee?
According to Pien, it comes down to a few key qualities:
- Critical thinking: understanding what you’re building and why.
- Taking initiative: sporting opportunities and sharing ideas.
- Collaboration: working independently while staying open to help and feedback.
This way, you not only learn faster but also make a visible contribution to the applications we develop together.
